The Present: The Door We Have Always Overlooked
We live in a society that taught us to always look ahead. From a young age, we heard phrases like “when you grow up,” “when you get a good job,” or “when you achieve your goals”—as if real life were to begin later… at some point in the future.
Everything seems to revolve around that idealized tomorrow, full of promises and rewards that always seem one step further away. We were programmed to believe that only once we earned a title, reached a certain position, or met others’ expectations would we feel fulfilled.
Work, which could be an authentic expression of our being, often becomes an endless race toward something we can’t even clearly define. The present is reduced to a mere transaction, a bridge to get to that future which—let’s be honest—almost never feels enough.
And this lifestyle comes at a cost. Living disconnected from the present takes its toll: stress becomes part of daily life, cortisol levels spike, the immune system weakens, and the mind stays in a constant state of distraction. We become divided beings, trapped in an automatic cycle with no space to choose, to question, or simply to be.
But… what if the present weren’t an obstacle to cross?
What if it weren’t just a bridge to what’s next?
The present is, in truth, the doorway to our inner freedom.
It is here, in this very moment, that we can reconnect with ourselves, step off the endless race, and remember that true power is not in the future… but right where you are now.
Because living awake doesn’t happen later.
It happens here.
Final Reflection
Life is not measured by the goals we achieve, but by our capacity to inhabit each moment. And the more we postpone our connection to the present, the farther we drift from ourselves. How much longer will you wait to begin truly living?
My Invitation to You
